This is Halloween

88 degrees on Halloween?? Really? Well, I can't tell you for sure if it was 88 degrees because I am too lazy to look up the actual high that day but it was hot....but more on that later. We didn't actually do anything on Halloween besides carve some pumpkins. The day before, Friday, I did get Isabelle dressed up as a Nebraska cheerleader and we went to a small party. It was fun but it was also work trying to run after Isabelle and take care of Evangeline as well. Furthermore, Isabelle is still to young to really enjoy most of the things a party entails. With that in mind, I just decided that we didn't really need to go out of our way to celebrate this year. I think the best part for Isabelle was carving pumpkins. She loved digging the seeds out and playing with the goo.

As I eluded to earlier, it's been quite hot down here in southern Florida. I know we were on the borderline of record heat most of October and so far November has been pretty warm as well. Upper 80's warm. Our air conditioner actually went out on us Sunday and thankfully(with a lot of annoyances along the way) it was fixed by Monday night. It probably sounds absurd to most of the continental U.S. that we are really still running the a/c, I know. I'm told by the weather man/woman that we might finally get some cooler weather by the end of the week. It cannot come soon enough.

My birthday last week was really nice. David and I even got the rare night out without kids. We went to a fondue restaurant called The Melting Pot which we always enjoy. If you've never been there and have a little money to spare(it's somewhat expensive), you should try it. I know they have one in Omaha for all of you Nebraskans. Oddly we've been there 3-4 times and each time it's been in a different state.

I don't think i have any good stories about the kids. Evangeline has been a bit challenging this week and actually so has Isabelle. They both have seemed uncharacteristically cranky. In the past few weeks, Evangeline has really started to look less and less like Isabelle. She has her own distinctive look, including less hair than Isabelle. I figured she would catch up hair-wise but it seems she is actually losing some instead of gaining. It's ok, she has some to spare. Isabelle has been talking a lot more lately. My favorite word of hers is "Eww..". It's so emphatic when she says it.

I might try to get some pictures up if I have the time later. My apologies if it doesn't happen.
